Though it’s been a hot summer and a grueling five-day-a-week practice schedule might not sound inviting, almost every day, a new recruit has shown up to the Malibu High School Sharks football practice. The reason: Terry Shorten.

Since he replaced Regence Humphrey as the MHS head coach in May, Shorten has been working to establish a new football culture in Malibu and said students are taking notice.
