Malibu students in grades 7-12 are encouraged to apply for the 2021-22 Harry Barovsky Memorial Youth Commission.
The commission meets at 6 p.m. the first Thursday of the month September through June and may make recommendations to the Malibu City Council on programs and projects that serve young people.
According to the application announcement, the commission “has the authority and responsibility to plan, organize and implement, with the assistance of appropriate members of the city staff and within budget limits, events, programs and activities for the young people of the community, and to hold fundraising events to further the work of the commission.”
Any money raised is restricted for the exclusive purpose of supporting the work of the commission, its events, programs and activities.
