National, state and local Realtor associations, including the Malibu Association of Realtors, are offering assistance grants to homeowners and renters affected by the Woolsey Fire.
Through a $1 million gift from the National Association of Realtors Relief Foundation, the California Association of Realtors is offering disaster relief grants up to $2,000 per household to provide assistance with mortgage relief or temporary housing. Covered expenses include mortgage payments of a primary residence that burned in a fire, lease or rent payments on replacement housing, or payments to a temporary shelter. Grants are distributed through C.A.R.’s Housing Affordability Fund and Disaster Relief Fund.
Applications are being accepted through June 30, 2019, depending on fund availability. Applications can be filled out at www.123formbuilder.com/form-4430114/camp-woolsey-and-hill-wildfire-inquiry and sent to email@example.com.
Locally, the Malibu Association of Realtors operates the Malibu Realtors Charitable Fund to respond to the most serious individual and family needs of members and the community. The fund’s primary focus is on the human needs unmet by other agencies, especially those pertaining to shelter and advocacy as well as personal, financial and emotional issues. Funds were raised by donations from members. Due to numerous local applications for relief, the group is requesting additional donations so they can continue to provide assistance.
