While smoke may be concerning to some, the Palisades Fire was posing no risk to Malibu as of Monday morning.

The fire, believed to be the work of an arsonist, was said to be 1,325 acres with 0 percent containment, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Evacuation orders in the Topanga Canyon area and the closure of Topanga Canyon Road between Mulholland and Pacific Coast Highway have not changed.

“There is still no current threat to Malibu,” according to a statement M<onday morning from city officials. “City staff continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as conditions change.”
