As soon as November 2016, Malibu may shift its General Municipal Election (GME) to coincide with the statewide general election.
The Malibu City Council adopted a resolution on Monday, March 23, to run a consolidated election with Los Angeles County, and if not,
hold a concurrent election. To make the resolution official, the Council needs to adopt an ordinance that will need to be approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
