Police Reports: Gold ring allegedly nabbed from vendor at Pepperdine

A gold ring worth $915 reportedly was stolen from a vendor March 7 at Pepperdine Tyler Campus Center at 24255 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. The alleged victim said she was selling rings at Pepperdine, when a person approached and asked to see two of the rings. The alleged suspect then did a “diversion,” and proceeded to leave the location without paying for one of the rings.

• Ten inflated “Happy Birthday” balloons reportedly were stolen from Ralphs supermarket at 23841 Malibu Road. The person working the register alleged the suspect paid for two balloons and other items, but did not have enough money to pay for 10 additional balloons. The suspect then walked out of the store, placed the balloons in a car and drove away aggressively.
