The graduation caps have been thrown (as you can see on our cover this week), and summer is just around the corner.

And while I’ve been hearing an awful lot about June Gloom, I know that brighter days are surely ahead. Hopefully, our readers will also be able to see all the excitement that awaits them after perusing our Summer Fun Guide, which you can find in the pages ahead.

In addition to a few words from area businesses such as BurgerFi, Malibu Fitness, McKinna Learning Center and velofix Santa Monica, you’ll find our list of 15 upcoming events in and around Malibu in the coming days and months.

We have the skinny on the City’s new enrichment camps — which range from NERF Sports (June 19-22) to Pirate Treasure Hunt (July 31-Aug. 3) — as well as plenty more fun for area youth.

There’s also the Fourth of July parade in Point Dume, which you surely won’t want to miss, and Concert on the Bluffs (though details were slim on the latter).

And while family fun is plentiful, we haven’t forgotten the adults, who are just as deserving of summer sun and fun.

Whether you’re looking for family fun, something to keep the children busy, or a way to escape for an evening, we have some options you may want to consider.

And while we could only fit 15 ideas in print, the fun doesn’t stop there. Readers can also visit for 25 additional ways to spend their summers.

Whether you prefer to spend your summers with a book in hand, or a glass of wine in hand, we have options in store.

So grab your calendars, and get ready for all the excitement that this summer could hold. You already live in paradise — what better time to embrace it than on those long summer days?

We hope you enjoy our Summer Fun Guide, and we look forward to seeing you at some of the exciting events ahead.

Oh, and congratulations to Malibu High School’s Class of 2017! We hope you, too, are able to make this your best summer yet before you head off to the exciting adventures your future holds.

No matter who you are, it’s a truly wonderful time of year. Enjoy it!
