Conservation activists, school children, politicians, scientists, representatives from numerous government agencies and local residents gathered at Liberty Canyon on the north side of the 101 Freeway on September 19, for a rally to support a proposed wildlife highway crossing that has the potential to reconnect Malibu and the Santa Monica Mountains—severed by the construction of the freeway—with the extensive network open space surrounding the greater Los Angeles area.
