Top-ranked senior Ashley Lahey of the Pepperdine women’s tennis team was recognized as the Southwest Region’s Senior Player of the Year and Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship award, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Monday.

Lahey is only the second player to achieve regional Senior Player of the Year since the league’s realignment as Mayar Sherif took the award in 2018. She is also the second Waves winner of the regional Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship and Leadership award after Lorraine Guillermo in 2015.
