Responding to changes in how video conferencing giant Zoom provides its services, the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District will, as of its Sept. 3 board meeting, will require participants to enter a passcode in addition to the link and meeting identification.

According to the district, as of Sept. 27, Zoom is requiring either a passcode or waiting rooms as an extra security measure for all meetings.
