The current mustard problem we are having in southern California has been brewing for many years. There are many other invasive species of plants taking over the whole area, so it is just not limited to the black mustard. For now, let’s talk about the black mustard, Brassica nigra.  The problem is evident in that it has taken over and has pushed out natives who can’t compete. In many ways we are responsible for this by the damage we are doing to the environment.
