The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District’s Board of Education has approved the appointment of Chris Hertz as the new principal for the newly combined Point Dume/Juan Cabrillo Elementary School. 

During a meeting on Thursday, May 2, at Malibu City Hall, the board voted 6-0, with Member Oscar de la Torre absent, to appoint Hertz to lead the school beginning in the fall.
