After experiencing a busy weekend responding to incidents on trails around Malibu, search and rescue teams rendered aid to a woman with an injured ankle Wednesday afternoon near Escondido Falls.

Capt. David Bowman of Los Angeles County Fire Department Station 71 characterized the operation as a cliff rescue with a helicopter, urban search and rescue, Malibu Search and Rescue and three firefighters responding.

The woman was wheeled out of the area and met a family member who took her to the hospital, Bowman said.
