On December 8, 2018, Malibu’s Casa Escobar hosted a one-of-a-kind, outstanding concert by the legendary Dick Dale, the King of Surf Guitar, whose famous, seminal song, “Misirlou,” first issued in 1962, was featured in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction in 1994, and rocked the house at that Malibu concert.  The event proved to be one of Dale’s last concerts. Dale, 81, passed away at Loma Linda Hospital on March 16.

Billy Scott Wilson, whose band opened for Dale in 2013, shared anecdotes about him.
