Eighteen-year-old Alaina Housley had just voted for the first time on Nov. 6. She was a freshman at Pepperdine University, where her parents also went to school, and where she was a Regents’ Scholar and English major. Next year, she was to spend a year studying abroad in Florence. One day, she intended to go to law school.
