Closed since the Woolsey Fire, Malibu’s Charmlee Wilderness Park is inching toward a reopening in as little as two weeks.

Crews were out on Tuesday working to make the 532-acre park off Encinal Canyon Road accessible as possible — a tall order considering eight miles of trails and facilities were destroyed in the December 2018 blaze.

City officials say an opening around Oct. 1 is expected. Once it opens, Los Angeles County pandemic health orders will be in place.
