Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Superintendent Ben Drati today announced a memorandum of understanding with teachers for the start of the 2020-21 school year that includes upwards of four hours of live instruction every school day for most students.

“Students’ experience with live instruction will vary as ‘live time’ will include whole class and small group instruction, both delivered synchronously and asynchronously, as well as independent work,” Drati said in a statement.
