A staple of many a harried mother trying to feed hungry kids, of many Pepperdine students on a budget and of many locals with a hankering for excellent Latin American food, Lily’s at Pt. Dume Plaza has carried on operations throughout the COVID-19 crisis, serving to-go fare to its loyal customers.

“We didn’t close,” said namesake Lily Castro. “We were open the whole time for to-go food.”

Tenacity is one of Lily’s hallmarks. When she was only 18, Lily, who is originally from El Salvador, took over her sister’s bakery at Pt. Dume Plaza.
