Woodrow Wilson was president and very few American families owned cars.  Women got the right to vote and wore cloche hats and flapper dresses.  And one of Malibu’s most intriguing residents was born.

On Sept. 24, at a gathering in her home, Joanne McDougall Boggs celebrated becoming a centenarian in style with friends and her longtime caretaker Maureen Wolkin, enjoying honey baked ham and potato salad, a lovely bouquet of balloons and, of course, a birthday cake.
