Ashley’s Angle: Recognizing the price of stardom

To see the stars in Malibu — to see the heavenly bodies of the rich and famous — is not to know the cost of stardom. To see the stars shine in public is not to know how they burn in private. To see the stars at night is not to know how they endure the daylight. To know the stars, then, is to see the afterglow of a phenomenon that is more radioactive than radiant: fame.

The majority of marine mammals that we at California Wildlife Center rescue are California sea lions and Northern elephant seals. Occasionally, however, we do receive calls about a number of other species.
