Pepperdine President Andrew K. Benton delivers the devotional message. He said that the last line of Pepperdine alumnus Thomas E. Burnett, Jr.’s call to Deena Burnett was “Don’t worry, we’re going to do something.” Benton said that very boldness and leadership is what Pepperdine aspires to for all its students.

A brief memorial service, hosted by the Pepperdine Office of the President and Office of the Chaplain, took place at noon on Sept. 11 in Pepperdine University’s Thomas E. Burnett Jr. Heroes Garden.
