In the top of the third inning on March 14, the Malibu High School softball team trailed only by three runs. Sharks senior pitcher Molly Gallagher had forced two outs on the Thousand Oaks Lancers and was riding a 2-2 count.

But in a flash, the Lancers started hitting every pitch thrown at them, driving in runs with seven straight at-bats. By the time the Sharks got the third out by catching a foul ball, they had dug themselves a 9-0 hole, eventually losing 16-1 to the superior Thousand Oaks squad.
