With overtime looming, the Malibu High School girls soccer players were in the middle of a slugfest against the Poly Bears. Neither team had scored, but plenty of players from both sides were scarred.

Each team pushed, shoved and kicked its way to a 0-0 tie before the end of regulation. But, with less than a minute left, the Bears and Sharks were clawing for the ball when all of a sudden, a Poly player broke free and launched a shot past senior goal keeper Seaira Moore.

The Poly players erupted with joy, and Malibu’s were in shock.
