Three members of the fourth-ranked Pepperdine men's water polo team were named to the Golden Coast Conference All-Academic team.

It was Mate Toth’s fourth consecutive year, while Kyle McKenney and Jacob Watson each made their first career appearance.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the GCC selects an all-academic squad. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and play in at least half of the games.

Toth (Balatonalmadi, Hungary/Szilagyi Erszebet Boarding School) was a key contributor in the Waves’ success, scoring 38 goals and assisting on 27 more. He was also named a CWPA All-America honorable mention for the second time in his career.

McKenney (Clovis/Buchanan HS) led the Waves in saves in 2019, stopping 110 shots from reaching the back of the net. He had the second-lowest goals against average and save percent on the team as well.

Watson (Westlake Village/Oaks Christian High) saw action in 24 games, scoring 12 goals and assisting on one more.

The Waves reached the national semifinal after winning the 2019 GCC Tournament.
