Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As campaign season has come and gone, I wanted to take just a moment to thank you for your support throughout my campaign for Malibu City Council. While we did not achieve the result that we hoped for, I am grateful for the opportunity I had to meet (often virtually) so many of the people that make Malibu such a special community.

Although the campaign is over, I remain committed to doing whatever I can to help preserve and protect our special city. I hope to continue serving in my role as a public safety commissioner where my top priority will be ensuring Malibu is safe and prepared for whatever challenges lie ahead in the future.

I want to wish Paul Grisanti, Steve Uhring, and Bruce Silverstein good luck as they begin their respective terms on the council and congratulate them on the victory. I also want to recognize Mark Wetton, Andy Lyon, Lance Simmens and Rick Mullen for their willingness to step up and run.

I learned a great deal about the residents of Malibu and will continue to listen and learn in the future. As a community, we are united by our shared desire to see Malibu stay the same amazing place we are all proud to call home. I will continue to stay involved and do everything I can to fight for Malibu and its residents.

All my best,

Doug Stewart
