While I know the past few weeks have not been easy on anyone, I know there are some local businesses that need your support more than ever.

This week we talked with Buzz Cadenhead, owner of Buzz Wax Automotive Hygiene here in Malibu. To help stay in business, he is now offering a new errand service to help clients get needed items safely.

We also spoke with Strange Family Vineyards who are now offering curbside pickup at its Malibu tasting room. They also have found a way to continue wine tastings by offering them virtually.

Writer Barbara Burke also checked in with Big Heart Ranch in Malibu who has found a way to connect their animals with those looking to learn more about them with virtual classes using their social media channels. I think some of the animals are now stars in the making.

There are also plenty of restaurants who are hoping to make it through this pandemic. We feature restaurants each week in The Dish and one of my personal favorites, Neptune’s Net, was this week’s restaurant. Take my advice and order their sampler platter to share with your family. You can also check out our Carry Out and Delivery Directory to see other options available throughout Malibu.

Tell us how you’re supporting local business during the pandemic. Share photos with us on Facebook or email them to heather@malibusurfsidenews.com. We’d love to feature them.

The most important lesson is that we are all in this together. We can do our best to help each other through this and we can do our best to support local business.

Additionally, if you’d like to support the Malibu Surfside News during this time, you can do so by subscribing online. We have been busy keeping our website up-to-date daily for our readers and ensuring they are receiving the most important news through Breaking News emails, such as the one for the brush fire on Friday at PCH and Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

We know we will make it through this time, but we also need to help those who may need a little extra help as well. Stay safe and healthy, Malibu.
