Authorities are seeking information on a possible hit-and-run spree involving an allegedly intoxicated truck driver Sunday afternoon in Malibu.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responding to a call about a box truck being driven erratically and endangering the public tried to pull the driver over on Pacific Coast Highway near Webb Way around 5:30 p.m.

The man continued north on PCH into Ventura County, where California Highway Patrol officers joined the pursuit. The truck driver hit another vehicle, lost control and ended up in a ditch.

Deputies from the Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station arrested the man on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run. He was taken to Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks for treatment.

His name was not released.

Later authorities received reports that the truck had struck several vehicles on PCH in Malibu.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact the Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station at (818) 878-1808 or via email at lhsmediainvestigations@lasd.org.
