Southern California Edison customers at both ends of Malibu will have their power turned off next week so the utility can perform maintenance on the electrical system.

According to the announcement, the outages “will allow SCE crews to upgrade aging infrastructure, make needed improvements and complete other repairs to increase system reliability in the future.”
One outage is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 23 in the 3600-3800 blocks of Las Flores Canyon Road.
Another outage is set for 10 p.m. Feb. to 4 a.m. Feb. 24 in the 30800 block of Broad Beach Road and 6000 block of Trancas Canyon Road.
Officials note the power may be turned off and on during the outage period or it may be off the entire time. In addiction, the start times may be affected and there may be no outage at all.

“The times noted are SCE’s best estimate and circumstances may affect both the start time and the completion time indicated above.”
