Richard Bloom, the former mayor of Santa Monica, has grabbed another endorsement in his bid to succeed outgoing 3rd District Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl who says she won’t run again.

On Monday, State Treasurer Fiona Ma said she supports Democrat Bloom, Malibu’s representative in the state Assembly since 2012, for the seat, which also represents Malibu.

Bloom, said Ma in a statement, “gets things done and doesn’t have the time or tolerance for political games.”

“Richard understands that a county’s priorities are reflected in how our tax dollars are spent, and he knows that the details matter. Richard is smart, thoughtful, tireless, and laser-focused on delivering results for the communities he’s elected to serve. I know he’ll make an excellent county supervisor.”

The filing period for the June 7, 2022, election is Feb. 14-March 11, 2022.
