A female employee of a Malibu restaurant was allegedly robbed at gunpoint after she parked for work April 5.
The woman told the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department that a male — described as hispanic and in his 30s — in a silver SUV pulled up next to her after she parked on Pacific Coast Highway just outside the entrance to her place of work, Paradise Cove Beach Cafe, 28128 Pacific Coast Highway, around 10:30 a.m.
The alleged offender then reportedly opened his car door, pointed a handgun at the woman and demanded her cellphone, said Sheriff's Lt. Jennifer Seetoo.
Seetoo said the alleged victim said she threw her phone — an iPhone valued at $1,000 — and ran down a declined driveway toward the cafe.
Dispatched authorities were unable to locate the alleged offender, but, Seetoo said, spoke with neighbors and alerted the City of Malibu.
Police were unsuccessful with tracking the phone and could not find surveillance cameras or witnesses, according to a police report.
No more information was immediately available.
