Topanga Canyon Boulevard, from Pacific Coast Highway to Grand View Drive, remained closed until just before 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, following two days of rain.
A rockslide was reported, but officials were able to close the roadway Thursday, Feb. 14, before any traffic collisions occurred, according to Weston Haver, public information officer for CHP West Valley.
Earlier on Feb. 14, a rockslide on Malibu Canyon Road, south of the tunnel, caused damage to two vehicles, Haver confirmed.
“No one was hurt, which is the most important thing,” Haver said.
A boulder fell on the windshield of one of the cars. In the other incident, the rock was already in the roadway when it made contact with the vehicle, Haver said.
