Shortly after 10 a.m., the City of Calabasas confirmed that the Oak Fire, which broke out south of the 101 and east of Las Virgenes Road and reached 10 acres, had been put out.

"The fire department is reporting knockdown on the fire, and will remain on location to address hotspots and flare-ups," Pepperdine University stated at 9:24 a.m. "Smoke may remain visible from the Calabasas campus."

Fire crews also are currently battling the Getty Fire, which has caused closures of several area roadways.
