The Soderqvist family, of Malibu, was among the lucky ones whose homes were spared.

But even before they knew the fate of their home, 11-year-old Isabella Soderqvist started offering support to fire victims, some of which were her friends on Corral Canyon.

“I realized when I was packing that material stuff doesn’t really matter to me and all I was thinking about was my family, my dogs,” Isabella said in the video.

Isabella’s sweet video message impressed her mom, Neda, who is a personal trainer to celebrities as the creator of Juicy Athletic Moves. Neda posted the video on her Instagram (jammalibu), where it quickly went viral, touching countless fellow residents and strangers alike.

“I think my daughter helped a lot of kids in the community,” Neda said.

Soon, the Nov. 11 video sparked donations for fire victims, which the Soderqvists distributed at Pepperdine’s Thanksgiving event.

Three months later, the donations are still coming in and the family is continuing to offer support to fire victims through Izzy’s Donation Center, located in Malibu Lumber Yard (3939 Cross Creek Road), above Café Habana. The center has shoes, clothing, household items and more, all offered free to charge to fire victims.

Neda runs the center alongside her 18-year-old son, Sebastian, Malibu resident Maggie Luckerath and an “amazing group” of volunteers.

“Having a center like this, you really get to meet some incredible people,” Neda said. “It’s brought out the best of the best in Malibu.”

The center is open from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Friday, and from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, though Neda said they can make an appointment to meet someone if the operating hours don’t work for them.

Currently, the center is seeking donations of clothing racks as well as household knick-knacks such as lamps, bedding and furniture. Donations can be made during business hours.
