Los Angeles County Third District Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, who represents Malibu, will join county Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer for a town hall meeting via Facebook on Saturday to answer questions about reopening the county amid COVID-19.
The public is encouraged to ask questions.
As of Wednesday, Los Angeles County reported 34,428 confirmed cases. Deaths in the county related to the disease topped 1,650. In Malibu, the number is 32.
A recovery plan, which officials stress is led by science, starting with curbside service by some retailers, limited beach use and in recent days release of guidelines for eating establishments to reopen safely, has many wondering if life as it used to be is right around the corner.
The virtual town hall, streaming for an hour starting at 11 a.m., will give participants the chance to ask questions of the politician and health officer through Facebook comments. Questions can be posted starting at 10:45 a.m.
