A Southern California Edison power outage affecting 1,980 customers has hit Malibu from Point Dume to Trancas Canyon.

The outage was reported at 9:20 p.m. Saturday and Edison crews were responding.

As of 10 p.m., power was still out for 1,765 customers.

The area affected is north of Pacific Coast Highway to Horizon Drive, and Serrano Road east to Busch Drive.

Deputies from the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff's station remind motorists to treat all traffic signals that are out as a stop sign.

SCE did not immediately identify a cause for the outage and did not have an estimate for when all power would be restored.
