There are reports of a brush fire at PCH and Topanga Canyon Blvd., but it has been extinguished.

The City of Malibu sent an emergeny alert around 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, warning residents and motorists to avoid the area. The alert also stated that the Los Angeles County Fire Department was responding to it.

Austin Bennett, a representative from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, said that they were on scene at 1:23 p.m on the west side of PCH and south lanes of Topanga Canyon Blvd. Bennett said it was reported there were two 20-foot-by-20-foot spots. Firefighters had it under control by 1:30 p.m. Bennett said two engines currently remain on the scene cleaning up.
