Obsessed Jewelry has long adorned its accessories with healing components, with crystals and Buddha charms embellishing some of its pieces.

Recently, as co-owner Amy Russo watched the impact the Woolsey Fire had upon Malibu, where Obsessed maintains a store, she wanted to further that healing aspect.

“Just like anybody else, we were like ‘What are we going to do?’ [and] ‘How are we going to contribute in our way?’” said Russo, who lives in Pacific Palisades.

Soon, she found her answer, and the Malibu Collection was born. The collection features bracelets, a necklace, a sweatshirt and a candle.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of each item supports the Malibu Foundation, created by Miley Cyrus and other members of the Malibu community to support programs in areas impacted by the Woolsey Fire, including Malibu.

“It’s always nice when you donate but you actually get something,” Russo said.

The necklace ($250) is 14-karat yellow gold, with a simple “Malibu” dangling from an 18-inch chain.

The bracelets ($48 each) are available with either silver or gold balls on a stretch cord, and in men’s and women’s sizes, Russo explains. That item features a plate that reads “Malibu.”

The other two items have been in the store all along, but were an obvious fit for the collection. The cotton sweatshirt ($48) is available in white or black, with Malibu on its back in gold or silver.

Lastly, there’s the “Obsessed with Malibu” candle ($25), an all-natural soy candle featuring notes of sandalwood, vanilla and lemon.

“It’s very light and it’s beyond amazing,” Russo said.

The purchase of each item also comes with a green Chrysocolla crystal, which, Obsessed explains “boosts your confidence and gives you the courage to deal with whatever situation you are facing.” The crystals also are available separately for $10 each.

A limited number of items are available in-store, and online orders (obsessedjewel
rystore.com) take roughly three days to process, Russo said.

Further, Obsessed Jewelry has a number of upcoming events, including organic spray tanning and free ear piercings every Saturday in December, and crystal bed healing every Sunday in December.

On Sunday, Dec. 9, a cashmere top collection from Malibu Basics will be featured in-store, with 20 percent of proceeds going to the equestrian fund run by the Boys and Girls Club of Malibu.

On Dec. 15, free yoga, dance and meditation classes, and a healthy cooking demo will be held.

On Dec. 16, the store will hold its holiday party, featuring an artist painting crystals while shoppers are invited to design their own skateboard decks.

Obsessed Jewelry is located in Malibu Country Mart (3835 Cross Creek Road) between Planet Blue and Mr. Chow.
