Life isn’t always a fairy tale, and for some lower-income children, the future is disproportionately bleak from the get-go.

Luckily, there are real-life fairy godmothers right here in Malibu — those like Maria D’Angelo, who founded The Children’s Lifesaving Foundation in 1993 after a chance encounter. The foundation aims “to help transform the lives of homeless and at-risk youth in Los Angeles County,” explained Francesca McCaffery, director of development at CLF.
