At least a dozen riders from a national fire department-based bicycling club passed through Malibu on Aug. 22, on the last leg of their week-long, 400-mile charity ride to the Santa Monica Pier from Sausalito.

The riders were members of nonprofit organization Fire Velo, which orchestrated a cancer awareness and fundraising ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, during a weeklong ride ending on Aug. 22.

The ride began on Aug. 16 in Sausalito, nearly 400 miles from the riders’ destination in Santa Monica.
