Two separate fires are currently burning near Newton Canyon on Kanan Dume Road.

The fire broke out at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday, April 17, after a vehicle collided with a light pole, causing a vehicle fire that spread to the hillside.

As of approximately 5:30 p.m., the two fires had spread to approximately three acres and are 75 percent contained, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Kanan Dume Road is completely closed from Mulholland Drive to Pacific Coast High.
