Los Angeles County Fire Department officials extinguished a car fire Monday, July 3, in Malibu.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred just after 4 p.m. on Anacapa View Drive, said LA County Fire Inspector Richard Licon. The fire, which did not spread to any brush, was knocked down by 4:18 p.m., Licon added.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Malibu Garden Club will host professional floral designer Connie Mercurio to give a presentation about holiday wreaths at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Point Dume Clubhouse.

Mercurio was trained as a designer in 1973 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, were she is from. 

She has also lived in New Orleans and worked at one of the biggest florists in Louisiana at the time, and designed large and spectacular Mardi Gras arrangements, funeral sprays, casket pieces and learned how to plant and design dish gardens and wreaths for every occasion.
