Upcoming Malibu family picnic may get a little wild
Submitted by California Wildlife Center
Chow down on gourmet vegetarian cuisine, learn about California Wildlife Center rescues, see Jimmy H the comedy magician and groove to live music by Jordan Hook.
All of that and more is at the California Wildlife Center’s first Feathers, Flippers and Fur Family Picnic from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, at Malibu Bluffs Park.
The picnic will help fund CWC’s fully-equipped wildlife hospital for emergency care, medical treatment and rehabilitation for sick, injured and orphaned California native animals.
The picnic will include: storytelling by Julie Tumamait-Stenslie, a Chumash elder and tribal chair of the Barbareno/Ventureno; demonstrations by the Malibu Monarch Project; face painting and crafts for children; a bean bag toss tournament with prizes; a silent auction and more.
This event is one of two that will replace The Wild Brunch, CWC’s former annual fundraiser.
Tickets are $75 for adults, $25 for children ages 3-18, and children ages 2 and under are free. Tickets include lunch and all activities. All proceeds go toward animal programs at California Wildlife Center.
