Mystery Restaurant Gets Breakfast Hours Permit
BY BILL KOENEKER
Malibu planning commissioners learned little more about a newly constructed but unoccupied restaurant that sits next to Nobu.
The eatery which is purportedly owned by Larry Ellison is planning on serving breakfast.
The legal entity or owner, Malibu Cantina, LLC, which is located in Walnut Creek, CA successfully sought approval of an application to amend the hours of operation to start at 7 a.m. instead of 11 a.m. daily as previously approved under the Conditional Use Permit granted by the city.
Chair John Mazza, who was the dissenting vote on several issues, said, “She told us they had no tenant, when asked what the name of the restaurant is, but after the meeting told commissioners they hoped to open in May.”
The applicant is Severine Tatangelo of Studio PCH, LLC. Its website indicates the company has provided design services for Nobu and the mystery restaurant.
Its residential ventures include several Carbon Beach homes including a five-lot property on Carbon Beach that is going to be turned into one “Grand Estate.”
The company was created in August 2008 by its two founders Alexia Convers and Tatangeleo, whose website describes them as French architects, who graduated together in 2003 from the School of Architecture of Saint Etienne in France.
