Malibu Middle School seventh-grader Charlotte Drummond returned from her prize trip to Washington, D.C., with members of the Los Angeles Lakers staff after winning the Lakers’ “Freedom Through My Eyes” art and essay contest.

Drummond spent five days in D.C. learning about the founding fathers and site-seeing at the nation’s capital.

Drummond and the other contest winners were honored at halftime during the Lakers’ March 25 home game.
