Malibu High School’s campus improvements have led to some unintended consequences: Construction has disturbed rat habitats and increased the number of rodents finding their way into buildings, trash cans and anywhere else they can at the school. 

So, Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District launched an aggressive rodent eradication program that includes public outreach, the use of traps, pesticides and a variety of other preventative measures.
