Police Reports: Rolex, purse taken in alleged home burglary
A men’s Rolex watch, cuff links, women’s Coach purse and a driver’s license reportedly were stolen from a residence on Castlerock Road, according to a June 1 report.
A caretaker of the property said when she entered the home she discovered a stained glass window broken, locked dresser opened and items missing. Upon further investigation, she also discovered a picture frame in the hallway placed on the floor, window screens removed from their tracks and bedrooms ransacked.
The reporting officer believes the alleged suspect gained entry through the broken stained glass window. The officer also found a tool in the backyard that may have been used in the alleged residential burglary.
• A cash drawer and $150 in cash reportedly were stolen from A1 Zuma Cleaners at 29575 Pacific Coast Highway, Unit D. A witness from a nearby business said upon arriving to work she noticed the front glass door of the cleaning business was shattered and proceeded to call the police. The reporting officer noted the smashed door, debris on the ground and a hand-sized rock on the floor of the business. The officer contacted the business owner. Upon arriving, the owner discovered the items missing.
• A camera reportedly was stolen from a residence on Malibu Vista Drive. The alleged victim said he was sleeping downstairs in the home and heard a noise coming from upstairs. Upon further investigation, he saw a shadow of a person coming down the stairs and running toward the rear of the home. The alleged victim locked himself in the garage and called 911. The reporting officer noted the closet was ransacked, two doors left open and screen on the laundry room ripped. The reporting officer noted the alleged suspect likely entered through the ripped screen door. No additional items were reported stolen.
• A purse, wallet, driver’s license and two credit cards reportedly were stolen from a vehicle at 23410 Civic Center Way. The alleged victim parked his vehicle to the north of Taverna Tony, and locked all of the doors. Upon returning, he discovered the front passenger’s side window shattered, glove box ransacked and items missing from the front passenger’s side floorboard. The alleged victim’s wife immediately contacted credit card companies and closed the accounts. No unauthorized charges to the credit cards were reported.
• A black leather clutch, driver’s license, debit card and car keys reportedly were stolen from a vehicle at 31940 Pacific Coast Highway. The alleged victim parked the car while visiting the beach for a few hours. Upon returning, he discovered the front passenger’s side window shattered and wallet with other contents missing from the center console and passenger’s side front seat.
