Athlete of the Week: 10 questions with Alex Averna

How did you start playing lacrosse?

I started in eighth grade, it was just an new sport I wanted to try. I played soccer, baseball [and] I just really liked lacrosse and it was fun to play. 

What do you enjoy most about playing lacrosse?

I just like the play. It’s just fun.

What do you hope you’ll get out of playing lacrosse in high school?

Nothing in particular, I just like to play.

What do you hope to study in college?

I’ll probably study biology, and I might play lacrosse, too.

How do you enjoy your free time from school and lacrosse?

I don’t have much free time, but when I do, I like to relax.

If you could do anything in the world, what would it be?

I’m not really sure.

What’s your dream job and why?

I don’t really have a dream job, but I like medicine a lot and would like to work in the medical field somehow.

If you could fluently speak another language, which would it be?

Probably Chinese because I just think it’s a cool language and I’m taking it in school.

Do you have a favorite subject in school?

Not really, I don’t really have one.

What’s your favorite genre of movies?

Action movies. I just like the tempo of those movies and like how they’re fast-paced.
