From the Editor: Your park, your voices
This past Friday, as I was just about to send the paper off to our designer, a small avalanche of Letters to the Editor submissions came pouring in. It was no surprise that all of them centered on one topic: Bluffs Park. After more than an hour-and-a-half of public comment during the City Council meeting on Monday, many still had more to say.
And so I changed my plans, as typically this neighboring page is slated for my editorial. This week, there’s nothing I could say about Bluffs Park that could be more important than continuing to hear out the community’s desires for the land.
And just like my plans changed, perhaps one day the City’s will, too, but I know the community will be watching and voicing their opinions every step of the way.
Whether or not a change of plans is on the horizon, I commend each and every one of you for standing up for what you believe in. It’s a truly remarkable thing to see.
