Some commissioners struggled Monday, Oct. 2, to wrap their heads around a project that took a “hybrid approach” to development standards.

 The project in question, which eventually received unanimous 5-0 approval from the Malibu Planning Commission, is located at 26544 Latigo Shore Drive. The site presents a unique situation, as it is zoned multi-family instead of multi-family beachfront, though City staff agreed it was a beachfront lot.
