With legal sales of recreational cannabis set to begin in California on Jan. 1, 2018, the Malibu City Council is divided about how to regulate expanded uses of the drug within city limits.

On Dec. 20, the City Council voted 3-2 to strike down parts of a draft ordinance that would have allowed for home delivery of medicinal cannabis. It also decided, at least for now, to not permit commercial cultivation and sales of recreational cannabis.
